Blacktown is a suburb of Blacktown City in Western Sydney which is booming in just about every aspect. People

There are over 40,000 residents in Blacktown making it the largest of any suburb or township in NSW and one of the largest in the country.

Compared to Greater Sydney there’s a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (60+ years). Median age is 33 years. There are also more families with children here than in other Sydney suburbs.

Blacktown is a culturally and linguistically diverse community. The Philippines, India, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Fiji
are the top five countries of birth for residents. This makes for a lively, year-round events calendar crammed with festivals that celebrate cultural diversity.

+ There is a major bus interchange located next to the station and an underground bus station at the entrance to Westpoint. There are regular bus services connecting the 40+ suburbs of the Shire
+ A bonus to residents are the shop-to-shop bus services to/from Westpoint Shopping Centre, Rouse Hill Town Centre, Parklea Markets, Stanhope Village, Plumpton Marketplace and Westfield Mount Druitt

Schools

+ Blacktown is services by a large number of schools, there are seven public primary schools and four public high schools in the area
+ For Catholic residents keen on continuing education in the faith, there are St Michaels and St Patricks Primary schools, and two Catholic high schools - Nagle College for girls and Patrician Brothers' College Blacktown for boys
+ There is also the Coreen School, which caters to children with learning difficulties
